Theresa Kelly
PADI DiveMaster and Specialty Instructor
II have been a water baby all my life, always first in the sea/pool and last out.
Reaching 50, I wanted to try more than just swimming, so I taught myself to snorkel for a trip to Egypt. Totally fell in love with the wonder of the underwater world, even more than I have loved swimming on the surface my whole life so wanted to go further and Scuba dive. I was too close to my flight home so as soon as I could, I booked a PADI Discover Scuba in a pool and from that moment, I was (and still am) totally and utterly hooked.
I completed my PADI Open Water in April 2016 and went on to do PADI Advanced Open Water in the June of same year. I achieved my Rescue Diver rating in 2017. A myriad of other courses to aid me in my underwater quests led to me being awarded the PADI Master Scuba diver certification. (Yes thats me on the wall of fame :-))
I have definitely had to work at some of the skills, but every achievement has been earned and joyously received. I have been blessed to have dived into triple figures with some of the loveliest people in some spectacular salt and freshwater sites both here in the UK and abroad. These have included in no particular order Egypt, a few times (where I saw my first turtle, just WOW! And saw 4 on my 100th dive!), Lanzarote, Tenerife, Madeira, Cornwall, Plymouth, Farne Islands, Chesil Beach, Eyemouth and St Abbs, Swanage, Gildenburg, Stoney Cove, Wraysbury, Leybourne and Vobster.
There is such joy and privilege to assist in even a small way with people’s experiences of the underwater SCUBA world. And I am so grateful and happy that I now get to do this as a fully-fledged PADI Dive Master with Bespoke Scuba as the first rung on the PADI Professional ladder.
I have definitely taken the slow and steady turtle route to get here, but what an absolutely superb journey so far. Cannot wait to see where the bubbles take me next. Paul tells me that its time for my Instructor Development course with Bespoke Scuba's Pro Development Team!
