Absolutely yes!
But what makes a family? Is it just the people who you are related to?
Here at Bespoke Scuba Diving we are just one big, amazing dive family! We have a passion for diving and sharing our experiences and expertise with each other, aged 8 to ...
For me personally, my diving journey began through #FOMO. My partner (Paul) and My daughter (Cerys) were going to be diving together on a family holiday in the Caribbean and then talking about what they would see and experience. I WANTED to be a part of that. So, I decided to take my first step by taking a Discover Scuba Diving experience to see what it was all about. This was a challenge for someone who doesn’t like water splashing on my face and would come out of a swimming session with dry hair! It took me a couple of goes, but I was all set for the next steps!
So for me, with a lot of persistence and being Paul’s ‘best student ever’ (well, that’s what I tell him), I completed my PADI Open Water in the UK, with cries of “Fish! Fish!” through my regulator at 10 metres! Its a good job hes a dive instructor as I made him teach me 1:1 :-) Paul even made me wear the t-shirt you can see on the team page - christening me "Scuba Jan"
This was just the beginning of what turned into a passion for me and a family activity that we were all embracing. My Scuba journey continued through completing Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Specialities until I became a Master Scuba Diver.
Well I was all in - So why not become a PADI Dive Master which is my current rating - But Paul does keep telling me it must surely be time to become an Assistant Instructor!
As a family, to share our underwater experiences together is amazing and we have enjoyed many wonderful diving holidays together in the Red Sea and the Caribbean.
As a Dive Master, I am now able to support my extended dive family at Bespoke Scuba Diving, which is an absolute pleasure and a privilege.
May our dive family continue to grow at Bespoke Scuba Diving with people sharing a love of diving in our wonderful, underwater world. Maybe it’s time for your family to begin a new activity which you can share and have memories blowing bubbles together.
